Voter ID Card Delhi Online Apply, Check Form Application Status & Download

Acquiring a voters ID in India is one of the basic things an Indian citizen should do once he is over 18 years old. The Voters ID card issued by the Election Commission of India is one of the most important identity documents an Indian citizen should have. The Voter ID card is not just a mere identity card but, as the name suggests it provides the right for an Indian citizen to vote for a representative, and it is a sole proof his/her nationality. Almost every government or private institutions accept the voters ID as an identity proof.  Now you know the importance of having a voters’ ID card and its benefits. Here is the step by step procedure to apply for a voters ID online, the pre-requisite, and the documents eligible.

Pre-requisite

  • Scanned copy of the applicant’s Passport size photo
  • Scanned copy of Age proof
  • Scanned copy of Address proof

Documents eligible to be submitted as proof

  • Age Proof – Birth Certificate, Driving license, High school mark sheet, PAN card, Aadhaar letter issued by the UIDAI, andPassport.
  • Address proof –Passport, Ration card, Driving license, Land phone bill, Electricity bill, Gas bill, Rent Agreement, Income tax assessment bill, letter or post delivered by the Indian postal department and Water Authority bills

Apply Voters ID Online 

Step 1: Visit the official website of “Election commission of India” or click here instead http://eci.nic.in/eci/eci.html

Step 2: On the Home screen of the Election Commission of India website, you can find several options arranged left-hand side and right-hand side. On the right-hand side, you will find an option that says “National Voters Service Portal” the same will be written in Hindi too. Select this option or instead click here http://www.nvsp.in/

Step 3: Now, a new tab opens up with a big bold heading “National Voter’s Services Portal” and below that, you will find a total of 6 options arranged in 2 rows. Select the option that says “ Apply Online for registration of new voter/due to shifting for AC” or click here instead http://www.nvsp.in/Forms/Forms/form6

Step 4: A new page appears now with a heading “Form 6” and a fill-up form below it. You will notice that the entire form is in Hindi, if you are fine with filling in the form in this medium you can do it in Hindi, or if you want to change the language, above the heading “Form 6” the page provides you an option to change the language. Click the drop-down button and select the language. Here for an easy explanation, I choose English. Step 5: Now, You can start filling in the form. PS: all the fields marked with an asterisk (*) needed to be filled mandatory. If you skip any asterisk marked fields, the server will not accept the form.

Step 6: Once have started filling in the form, enter all the details carefully. PS: enter the email ID and mobile number correctly because in the end, the applicant’s personal voters ID link will be sent to this email

Step 7: If you have completed the filling in part, you will find the next mandatory requirement to upload the documents as the proof the details entered. The first field is to upload “Your Photograph”, click the “Choose File” button below and a dialogue box pops up, select the passport size photo(jpg, png, bmp, jpeg) from your saved file destination and click the “open” button on the dialogue box and the file will be uploaded

Step 8: Now, you will find the field requesting you to enter the “Age-Proof”, click the button “Choose File” button below and a dialogue box pops up, select the Age proof document (jpg, png, bmp, jpeg) from your saved file destination and click the “open” button on the dialogue box and the file will be uploaded. After the file gets uploaded, select the type of document uploaded from the option below using the drop-down menu.

Step 9: Next, you will have the field requesting for the “Address proof”, click the “Choose File” button below and a dialogue box will appear, select the Address proof document (jpg, png, bmp, jpeg) from your saved file destination and click the “open” button on the dialogue box and the file will be uploaded. After the file gets uploaded, select the type of document uploaded from the option below using the drop-down menu.

Step 10:Once, you have completed the uploading procedure, fill up the declaration form below as requested and click “Submit” button.

Step 11: Now, the server/ the host will send an email to the email id provided on the form. This email will have the link to your personal voter ID page that will help you to track the status of your application. At the same time,registrations ID/reference ID will appear on the screen that can be used to track the status.

It usually takes a month for the Voters ID to be generated and delivered to the address. Meanwhile, the applicant can track the status of the application through the link sent to the email ID or with the reference ID received at the end of the application procedure.

Step by step procedure to check the application status

Step 4: Now, a new page appears on the screen with a heading “Online Application Status” and a single field fill up form. Enter the “Reference ID” as requested. PS: the reference ID was provided to you at the end of the online application procedure.

Step 5: Once, you completed entering the ID, click the “Track Status” button below.

Now the page will display the status of your application. The same way you can also check the status of the application on the chief electoral officer’s website.

Step 1: visit the CEO Delhi official website or click here to directly enter the page http://ceodelhi.nic.in/OnlineErms/CheckApplicationStatus.aspx

Step 2: Now you will see a fill-up form with heading “Check Application Status Form” and a few options below it, select to check the “Form 6” and then enter the application ID and the Captcha code as displayed. Click the “Search” button now.

Now the status of your application form will appear on the screen.

Step by step procedure to download the Voters ID online.

Step 3: On this page, on the right-hand side you will find a heading “Citizen Information” and two options below it. Select the option “Booth, AC, and PC” or click here instead http://electoralsearch.in/

Step 4: Now, on the page, you will find an option “Search by Details” and “Search by EPIC No”, select any one option and a fill-up form will appear. Enter all the details carefully as requested and submit the form.

Step 5: Once, the form is submitted the page displaying your voter ID information appears on the screen with an option on the down-right bottom to “Print Voter Information” click this option to print or download the info.

PS: If you have lost your voters ID, and if you need a new voter’s ID, this option won’t help. In such cases, you need to apply for duplicate voters ID and the entire procedure of applying for a duplicate voters ID is different.
